What is @SkypeClassroom ?

We use Skype in the Classroom (and Google Hangouts) as a free and easy way for our pupils to open up their classroom to international dialogue and exchanges.

If you don't know about Skype in the Classroom then visit the Official site here.

Which pupils take part?

Our pupils are:

- Mainly French with English as a second or third language.

- Aged 11 to 16.

- Keen to meet with English or French speaking pupils around the world!

What level of English?

Our pupils are starting out in English.

Most are looking forward to presenting themselves, their school and their town in France. They want to ask questions and learn about different countries and cultures. They look forward to answering your questions as young ambassadors for French life and culture.

Objectives

- Build awareness of cultural diversity and differences

- Build English language skills

- Interact with authentic English speakers

- Build letter writing skills through hand-written postal exchanges

Projects

Our students this year are:

- Building an online exhibition about life in Rillieux-La-Pape, France

- Working on a project entitled : 'Me, My School, My Town'

- Hoping to learn about other pupils in other countries, their schools and their towns.
